How to take GCash and Maya deposits for appointments
A small deposit is the most reliable way to cut no-shows. In the Philippines that usually means a GCash or Maya transfer before the appointment.
The hard part is not getting paid. It is keeping track: which screenshot belongs to which booking, whether the payment really arrived, and what happens when someone cancels. This guide covers all of it.

Decide how much to ask for
There is no single right number. These are the common choices:
- A fixed amount for every booking, for example 200 or 300 pesos. Simple and easy to explain.
- A percentage, such as 20% of the service price. Fairer when your prices range widely.
- Full payment upfront for long or custom services, such as extensions or bridal packages.
- No deposit for loyal regulars. Many owners waive it after a client’s first few visits.
Set up your wallet details once
- Step 1: Use the GCash or Maya account in your business or own name, exactly as it shows to the sender.
- Step 2: Write down the account name and number, or save your QR code, so clients can copy them without asking.
- Step 3: Tell clients to include their name and appointment date in the message or note when they send.
Check that the money actually arrived
A screenshot is a claim, not proof. Edited screenshots do happen. Before you confirm a slot, open your own GCash or Maya transaction history and match:
- The amount.
- The reference number on the client’s screenshot.
- The date and time.
Only confirm the booking once you see the payment in your own app.
Give clients a deadline to pay
Hold a slot for a set time, such as 2 hours or until the end of the day, then release it if no deposit arrives. Say this upfront so nobody feels singled out.
Write down your refund rule
Decide before it happens. A common rule: the deposit is refunded or moved to a new date if the client cancels at least 24 hours before, and kept if they cancel later or do not show. Our deposit policy template has wording you can copy.
How Nabbee does this for you
- You add your GCash and Maya details once, and they show on your booking page.
- You choose the deposit: none, 20%, the full price, or a fixed amount.
- The client pays you directly and uploads proof when they book.
- You see every pending payment in one Payment review list and confirm with one tap.
- The money goes straight to your wallet. Nabbee never holds it and takes no transaction fee on GCash or Maya deposits, and there is no payout to wait for.
For safety, Nabbee checks a new shop’s details before deposit requests are switched on.
Questions owners ask
Is it okay to ask for a deposit?
Yes. Clients are used to it for nails, lashes, hair color and other long services. State the amount and your refund rule before they book.
Should I use GCash or Maya?
Accept both if you can. Clients pay faster with the wallet they already use.
What if the client paid but I cannot find it?
Ask for the reference number and search your transaction history for it. Transfers are often instant, but check again later before you cancel the slot.
